Book Review - Unhinged

Title: Unhinged (Splintered #2)
Author: A.G. Howard
Genre: YA Supernatural
Release Date: January 2014

Goodreads' Summary:

Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she's always dreamed of.

That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.

As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.

If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she'll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.

My review:

At this point, I don't know if it's even fair for me to review an A.G. Howard novel. I had minor reservations about Splintered, but Unhinged had no problems because Morpheus plays a larger, if possible a more seductive role. I don't care what happens in this series: Morpheus is my muse.

I mean, have you seen that cover?! He's perfection on a book.

Book Review: Prodigy (Legend #2)

Title: Prodigy
Author: Marie Lu
Genre: YA Dystopian
Release Date: January 2013

Goodreads Summary:

Injured and on the run, it has been seven days since June and Day barely escaped Los Angeles and the Republic with their lives. Day is believed dead having lost his own brother to an execution squad who thought they were assassinating him. June is now the Republic's most wanted traitor. Desperate for help, they turn to the Patriots - a vigilante rebel group sworn to bring down the Republic. But can they trust them or have they unwittingly become pawns in the most terrifying of political games?

My review:

Marie Lu's Legend Trilogy keeps getting better. The politics get messier, the love gets more passionate (as if that was possible), and the plot grows more intense with each battle. I hate being the first of my friends to read this series because otherwise I would have started years ago!

Cover Reveal: Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch

Sara Raasch and Epic Reads has finally released the cover for the Snow Like Ashes sequel, Ice Like Fire!

IT'S PERFECT.

Raasch is turning into an author like Marissa Meyer: nothing she does can disappoint me. This cover looks stunning! I love the return of the circular design and showing us glimpses of the seasons. Not to mention I need to find out what happens after they all return to Winter! Ice Like Fire could either mean Winter invading Summer or Summer invading Winter. Either way, things look hot! (Too puny? Yeah, I thought so). And Theron! I'll soon be reunited with him! *swoon*

Okay, enough of my aimless fangirling. What do you think of the cover? Do you love it? I love it, but you knew that already.

Also check out Epic Reads for the full scoop!

Book Review: Fairest

Title: Fairest: Levana's Story
Author: Marissa Meyer
Genre: YA Dystopian
Release Date: January 2015

                                                        Goodreads' Summary:

In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.
